Tragically, Winehouse never conquered her demons in time to deliver the follow-up proper to Back To Black, but fans should find some consolation in this posthumous release. Produced by Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, Lioness: Hidden Treasures juxtaposes covers and alternate takes with demos for her third studio album, and brings to light intriguing collaborations with rap star Nas and jazz legend Tony Bennett, showcasing the variety of her musical influences. Sadly, it’s not the cohesive record Winehouse had intended to unveil, but it’s a sensitive tribute to a great lost talent.
